I moved on and worked for the Macdonald Hotel Group as part of their Modern Apprenticeship Scheme.  During my time with Macdonald Hotels, I worked in London, Bath and both The Roxburghe and The Holyrood in Edinburgh.  During the 10 years I have gained experience in Rosette and Red Star restaurants, but also in small homely, Gastro and Bistro kitchens.  I now look forward to working at Oblò and await to see what new challenges lay ahead.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Working in Oblò has always been a great way to be part of a great party atmosphere on a Friday and Saturday night.  You can always have some fun behind the bar and I really enjoy the chance to be creative and try new cocktails and drinks using different ingredients varying from fruit and spirits to Giacopazzi’s famous ice cream.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Customer and people relations is a very important part of my life and I’ve been lucky to meet some great people and learn so many valuable skills which I try to use to make any customer feel welcome and enjoy their experience in Oblò, and also to be able to have a great time working with my fellow colleagues.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I entered this profession 24 years ago, more by accident than career choice, but after a couple of years realised that I wanted to work within the hospitality industry. After attending college and working in different establishments all over Scotland I now find myself in the coastal town of Eyemouth as Head Chef of Oblò.</p>
<p>My career has taken me from Inverness to Aberdeen, Dundee, Fife and now the Borders and has involved working in various establishments from pubs to hotels and rosette restaurants. I have received great advice and gained much experience throughout my career from people such as Frank Fusco and Bill Kerr and I would not be where I am today without their help.</p>
<p>Although the hours can be long and some days not so good, I get great satisfaction when I hear people compliment the food I prepare, cook and serve. It is things like this that makes this career very fulfilling.</p>

I went through many courses and training.  In 2005 I passed a Bartending Course in Berlin.  In 2006 I undertook Catering &amp; Hospitality training and in 2007 I achieved a Bachelor Degree in Sociology.<br />
I joined the Oblò team in 2009 as a Bar Person and Waitress and in May 2012 I was promoted to Assistant Manager.<br />
The most important aspect of my job is my work with, and for, people.  The staff in Oblò are really great.  They have unique personalities and it is a pleasure working with them to offer the best service to our customers.  Oblò gives me the opportunity to create the best standard of work.  We can turn a simple meal into an unforgettable experience for our customers.  Great place to work!  Great place to visit!</p>
